FAQs
Why coconut apricot wax?
We purposely chose this plant-based wax, as it produces a clean burning, long-lasting candle that can easily fill a room with a beautiful scent.
Coconut apricot wax is vegan, plant-based, and free from artificial dyes and phthalates.
What are you wicks made of?
Unless stated otherwise in the product description, we only use cotton wicks, which are lead-free and zinc-free.
Are your candles vegan/cruelty free?
Yes. No animal products are used in our candles, and we do not test on animals.
What else is in your candles?
We use three ingredients: plant-based wax (we use a blend of coconut and apricot wax), cotton wicks that are lead-free and zinc-free, and high quality fragrance/essential oil blends that are free of phthalates (a known endocrine disruptor with potentially negative health impacts.)
How strong are your scents?
Our scents are strong and have a wonderful hot throw, but are not overwhelming. They will elevate a room, but not overpower it.
Got any tips for maximizing the life of my candle?
Please see our Candle Care page for tips and best practices.
Do you have a brick and mortar store?
Right now, all our candles are made in Fair Haven, New Jersey. At the moment we do not have a dedicated storefront, but hope to have one in the future.
I can't get my candle to light. What is going on?
It is important to keep wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch to keep them burning properly. If the wick is trimmed too short, you may have difficulty keeping it lit. We recommend dumping out some of the wax and lighting it again.
Why is my container turning black?
If your wick is not trimmed before each use, it can develop a mushroom tip, which can release soot and debris. This means the candle is not burning properly. Extinguish the candle, allow it to cool and trim the wick.
What size candle do I need for my room?
Our 8 oz candles are best suited for large to medium sized rooms, like living rooms, kitchens and bedrooms. For extra large rooms with high ceilings or open floor plan homes, consider placing multiple candles throughout the space to make the fragrance more noticeable.
Why is my white candle turning yellow?
We do not add UV inhibitors to our candles or any other unnecessary chemicals or artificial dyes. As such, if left exposed to direct or indirect light, your candle may darken. Furthermore, if your candle contains any vanilla fragrance, it may be more prone to yellowing. When not in use, we recommend storing your candle in a cool dark place to keep it white. If it does darken, do not be alarmed. This does not affect the burn or quality whatsoever.
